Head of Sales – General Trade

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets for the General Trade channel.
• Build and lead a high-performing sales team by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous development.
• Identify and capitalize on market opportunities, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
• Strengthening relationships with key distributors and retail partners to expand market presence.
• Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing actionable insights to drive growth.
• Ensure effective territory management and optimal utilization of resources.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to drive brand visibility and promotional initiatives.

Ideal Candidate Should Possess:

• A proven track record of 10+ years in sales, with a significant portion in the FMCG or General Trade sector.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role, managing large teams and multiple territories.
• A degree or professional qualification in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (an MBA is highly desirable).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to a fast-paced and competitive business environment.
